Dick Cheney served as the 46th vice president of the United States, serving under President George W. Bush from January 20, 2001, to January 20, 2009. He had previously been the Secretary of Defense under President George H. W. Bush (1989–1993) and later led Halliburton as CEO before entering the vice presidency.
