Jeff Buckley was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for his 1994 album Grace and his acclaimed rendition of Leonard Cohen’s song “Hallelujah.” He became a cult figure in the early 1990s New York music scene and died in 1997 at age 30 after accidentally drowning in the Wolf River near Memphis, Tennessee.
