The Sundance Kid was Harry Alonzo Longabaugh (born 1867 or 1870 in Pennsylvania), an American outlaw known as a skilled gunslinger and a member of the Wild Bunch gang. He earned his nickname from the town of Sundance, Wyoming, where he was imprisoned for horse theft. The Sundance Kid was closely associated with Butch Cassidy, with whom he robbed banks, trains, and mining interests primarily in the American West and later in South America, including Argentina and Bolivia in the early 1900s. According to accounts, he was mortally wounded in a shootout with Bolivian cavalry around 1909, though alternate stories suggest he may have survived longer under another name. He was also accompanied by his girlfriend Etta Place during his South American years.
