Voddie Baucham was an American pastor, author, and educator known for his conservative Christian teachings. He served as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia, and was the founding president of Founders Seminary in Cape Coral, Florida. Baucham was a prominent figure in Reformed Baptist circles, recognized for his strong commitment to biblical principles, especially regarding family and Christian apologetics. He authored several books and was active in ministry until his death on September 25, 2025, following an emergency medical incident. He was also known for his background in football during college, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and his advocacy for Christian education and biblical manhood. Baucham was married with nine children and lived part of his life in Africa as a missionary and educator before returning to the U.S. to help establish a seminary.
