Abdul Kalam's school friends were Ramanadha Sastry, Aravindan, and Sivaprakasan. Later in life, Ramanadha Sastry became the high priest of the Rameshwaram temple, Aravindan went into the business of arranging transport for pilgrims, and Sivaprakasan became a catering contractor for the Southern Railways.
