The Detroit Tigers lost their game tonight in a marathon 15-inning postseason battle to the Seattle Mariners with a final score of 3-2. Jorge Polanco of the Mariners hit the winning single in the 15th inning that scored J.P. Crawford, ending the Tigers' season and sending the Mariners to the American League Championship Series. Despite a historic pitching performance by Tigers' Tarik Skubal who struck out 13 batters, the Tigers were unable to secure the win after a back-and-forth series and multiple missed opportunities to score. Kerry Carpenter was a standout for the Tigers with a two-run homer and four hits overall in the game.
