The Hanuman Chalisa was written by the poet-saint Tulsidas in the 16th century. Tulsidas, renowned for his devotion to Lord Rama, composed this devotional hymn in the Awadhi language. He is also famous for authoring the epic Ramcharitmanas , a retelling of the Ramayana in vernacular Hindi. The Hanuman Chalisa consists of 40 verses (chaupais) and is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, praising his strength, devotion, and protective powers.
