The song "Twist and Shout" was written by Bert Berns (under the pseudonym Bert Russell) and Phil Medley. It was originally recorded by the Top Notes in 1961, but gained fame with the Isley Brothers' 1962 version and later became very well known through the Beatles' cover in 1963.
