Flags are at half-mast in Kentucky today, August 30, 2025, in honor of Marion County firefighter Lt. Brian Hatt. He died in the line of duty after being injured in a tanker truck crash while responding to a call on August 22 and passing away on August 25. Flags are lowered at all state buildings from sunrise to sunset as a tribute to him, and the governor encourages everyone across the commonwealth to join in this honor.
