Akon was briefly arrested in Georgia due to an active bench warrant connected to a prior failure to appear in court over a suspended driver’s license. In what appears to be a separate incident, authorities also cited him for driving with a suspended license and then impounded his vehicle during the process. He was released from custody a few hours later.
