Flags are at half-mast today, September 28, 2025, to honor Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day. Governor Tim Walz directed all United States and Minnesota flags at state buildings to be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset to honor Minnesota firefighters who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. This is an annual observance to recognize the sacrifice and service of these firefighters and their families.

Additionally, in Canada, flags are at half-mast to observe Police and Peace Officers' National Memorial Day on the same date, September 28, 2025.
