Jacory Croskey-Merritt is called "Bill" because he got the nickname from having a bald head as a child and a very short haircut. People teased him saying he looked like the character "Little Bill" from the children's television series created by Bill Cosby. This nickname just stuck with him from that time, and now he prefers to be called Bill, especially in broadcasts and by fans. His coaches and teammates have known him as Bill for most of his life, even though his family calls him Jacory.
