President Donald Trump issued a proclamation ordering flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide from August 27 through sunset on August 31, 2025, to honor and respect the victims of this senseless act of violence, which resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to at least 17 others. Additionally, Louisiana is observing Hurricane Katrina Remembrance Day today by lowering flags to half-mast to honor and remember the victims of that tragedy.
