A person who is alert while having a seizure is indeed having a focal aware seizure. This type of seizure occurs while the person remains conscious, aware, and alert of their surroundings during the episode. They may experience uncontrollable movements, sensations, or feelings but retain awareness and usually remember the event afterward. Focal aware seizures often last less than two minutes and can include symptoms like muscle twitching, unusual sensations, or visual disturbances. This seizure type is also known as simple partial seizures or focal onset aware seizures.
