Battlehorn Castle in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a player home introduced in The Fighter's Stronghold DLC. It is found in the Colovian Highlands on the Black Road, west of Chorrol. When approaching the castle, a quest called "Battlehorn Castle" starts, which involves defending the castle from marauders. After defeating them, the player inherits the castle. The castle itself is large with multiple levels and has areas such as a stable and a forge. It is initially in disrepair, so the player must purchase upgrades through Nilphas Omellian at the Merchant's Inn in the Imperial City. These upgrades include furnishing different areas of the castle like the barracks, bedroom, dining, kitchen, library, training room, trophy hall, and wine cellar, as well as installing a Dwemer Forge. Fully upgrading the castle brings additional NPC staff such as a chef, vintner, and taxidermist. The castle also has hidden passages and secret areas, including a challenging dungeon with notable loot. Features like unique armor skill food and drink become accessible upon upgrade. In summary, Battlehorn Castle can be obtained by helping defend it from marauders, then upgrading and restoring the castle to serve as a customizable player home with various rewards and staff.
