To allow pop-ups on an iPhone, the steps depend on the browser you are using—Safari or Chrome.
For Safari (the default iPhone browser)
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap Safari.
- Under the General section, find Block Pop-ups and toggle it off (the switch should turn gray).
- Close Settings and open Safari to browse sites that use pop-ups. You may need to refresh the webpage for pop-ups to appear
For Google Chrome on iPhone
- Open the Chrome app.
- Tap the three dots menu icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Content Settings or Site Settings.
- Find Pop-ups and toggle Block Pop-ups off (the switch should turn gray).
- Exit settings and continue browsing to allow pop-ups on sites that use them
Disabling pop-up blocking allows legitimate pop-ups like login windows or customer service chats to function properly, but remember to re-enable the blocker if you want to prevent unwanted pop-ups later
. This process applies to recent iOS versions including iOS 17 and iPhone models such as iPhone 11 through iPhone 15
