The T in Boston generally runs until around 1 a.m., with the last trains typically departing stations close to midnight and completing their routes by about 1 a.m. Recently, starting in August 2025, the MBTA has extended late- night service on all subway lines by nearly an hour on Friday and Saturday nights, allowing trains to run until about 2 a.m. on weekends for certain lines like the Red Line from Ashmont. During weekdays, last trains still usually end close to 1 a.m. This expansion aims to support late-night workers and nightlife travelers. Service start times are before 5 a.m. in the morning.
