Red Bull GmbH is owned primarily by two parties: Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz and the family of the late Thai businessman Chaleo Yoovidhya, who co-founded the company. The ownership is roughly split with each holding about 49% of the company, while the remaining 2% was originally allocated to Chaleo Yoovidhya's son, Chalerm Yoovidhya. After the death of the founders, Mateschitz's son Mark holds his father's 49% stake, and the Yoovidhya family continues to hold its 49% through a Hong Kong-based holding company, represented recently by Chalerm Yoovidhya and other family members. The company operates as a private multinational conglomerate from Austria. This partnership structure has remained consistent since the founding in the 1980s with Red Bull's significant global success.
