This is because the left hemisphere, which controls language, receives input from the right visual field and can verbalize what it sees. Conversely, images shown to the left visual field are processed by the right hemisphere, which typically cannot communicate this information verbally due to the severed corpus callosum, but the patient can identify these images using the left hand controlled by the right hemisphere
