"What a Feeling" is a song from the 1983 film Flashdance with music by Giorgio Moroder and lyrics by Keith Forsey and the songs performer, Irene Cara. The song was written after Cara and Forsey were shown the last scene from the movie in which the main character dances at an audition for a group of judges. The song was a hit and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Irene Caras album "What a Feelin" included the hits "Why Me?" and "Breakdance," and she also made the Top 40 with a third movie theme, "The Dream (Hold on to Your Dream)," from DC Cab.
