Jewish people are not from a specific country, but rather are a global ethnic and religious group. According to the Pew Research Center, as of 2023, the worlds "core" Jewish population was estimated at 16 million, which is only 0.2% of the 8 billion worldwide population. The largest Jewish population is in Israel, which is the only Jewish-majority country and the only explicitly Jewish state. However, the United States and Israel were collectively home to more than 80 percent of the global Jewish population in 2013. Other countries with significant Jewish populations include France, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Germany, Ukraine, Brazil, Australia, and Hungary.
