Franky joined the Straw Hat Pirates crew at the end of the Water Park Arc in the anime’s Episode 322 titled ‘Goodbye my Lovable Followers! Frank Departs’ based on chapter 437, ‘Naked but Great’ of the manga. In this episode, Franky is standing on Scrap Island after chasing his swim trunks to the Straw Hats new ship through Water 7. He insists that Luffy, who is currently holding his swim trunks, give them back. He is slightly humiliated by the citys residents but he still refuses to leave and even brazenly poses in front of the ship. Frankys tenacity impresses Luffy. Nami just refers to Franky as a pervert, which is what the locals were calling him. However, Robin has an idea and requests permission to be a little rough with him. Robin grabs Frankys testicles with the help of the Dos Fleur Grab with Luffys approval. He screams in agony and begins to flail around in pain. Franky is thrown to the ground. Luffy objects because he still wants Franky to be a man. In response, Robin advises the pirates to hold onto any loot they discover. Franky accepts their offer and joins their crew.
