According to the search results, a shooting occurred on the campus of Morgan State University on October 3, 2023, during the universitys homecoming week celebration. The shooting resulted in five people being injured, four of whom were Morgan State University students. The victims, four men and a woman aged 18-22, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The university police officers were on patrol when they heard discharging on campus and activated active shooter protocols. The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) oversaw the investigation, in collaboration with the Morgan State University Police (MSUPD), and identified two individuals, one of whom was arrested for his alleged connection to the shooting. The arrested individual is a 17-year-old male from Washington, D.C., and an attempted murder warrant was issued for another 18-year-old male in connection to the shooting. The university canceled classes on the day after the shooting and held an emergency meeting to reassess the remaining scheduled homecoming week activities.
