Isobel Castille, the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in the TV show FBI, was critically injured in the Season 7 finale when she collapsed with no pulse after an attack by a terrorist group called Forefront. In the Season 8 premiere, it was revealed that Isobel suffered a brain bleed and underwent emergency brain surgery (a craniotomy). Although she was in a life-threatening condition and unconscious for a time, Isobel survived the surgery and is currently in recovery. The showrunner confirmed that the character is expected to return when she is ready, and her near-death experience will impact her storyline, including her personal life and leadership role. The team has been coping with her absence, with Jubal Valentine taking over as acting SAC.
