Brendan managed to finish the leg but discovered it was a virtual pit stop, meaning the race continued, and feeling physically and emotionally exhausted, he made the difficult decision to withdraw them from the race to prioritize Leni's health. After they left, Leni's condition worsened; she had a chest infection lasting six weeks and her appendix burst. Despite the heartbreaking exit, both said the experience brought them closer and was a memorable bonding adventure.
