Leni Fevola had to leave The Amazing Race Australia 2025 due to illness. During the seventh leg of the race in Sri Lanka, Leni became very sick with what was suspected to be a severe flu or strain of COVID, which left her with a high fever and delirious. Brendan Fevola, her father and teammate, was forced to complete that leg of the race alone. Although he finished in second place, it was later revealed to be a virtual pit stop, so racing continued. Given Leni was alone and unwell in a hotel, Brendan made the difficult decision to withdraw from the competition to ensure her health and wellbeing. After leaving the race, Leni was bedridden for over a week, suffered from a chest infection for six weeks, and then had her appendix burst, validating Brendan’s choice to exit. Despite the heartbreaking end, they described the experience as a great bonding adventure and were grateful for the time shared on the race. Their team was competing for Small Steps 4 Hannah charity.
