According to the search results, Rory McIlroy was involved in a heated argument with Justin Thomas caddie, Jim "Bones" Mackay, in the parking lot of the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club after the eight Saturday matches concluded. The argument was presumably over an incident that occurred about 30 minutes earlier on the 18th green involving Patrick Cantlays caddie, Joe LaCava, who was waving his hat. McIlroy was caught on camera screaming at Mackay, but it is unclear whether he was upset with him or if the caddie took the brunt of his rant.

New footage has emerged of McIlroys argument with LaCava on the 18th green, where LaCava appeared to anger McIlroy by waving his hat.

Despite the controversy, McIlroy led the European team to victory, defeating Sam Burns 3 & 1 and capping off a record of 4-1, the most points scored by any player and his best showing in seven Ryder Cups.

After the victory, McIlroy suffered a fluke injury when he caught a champagne cork in his shoulder during the teams celebration.
