In poker, a straight is a hand that consists of five cards of sequential rank, not all of the same suit. The suits of the cards are not important when making a standard straight. The highest possible straight is A-K-Q-J-10, also known as "Broadway," while the lowest possible straight is A-2-3-4-5, also known as the "Wheel" or "Bicycle". The Ace can rank either high or low in a straight, but cannot simultaneously rank both high and low. A straight ranks below a flush and above three of a kind. A straight beats all made hands that sit below it in the poker hand rankings, such as three-of-a-kind, two pair, one pair, and high-card hands. However, a straight loses to a flush and all other hands above it in the poker hand rankings chart.
