Daktacort cream is a medicine used to treat inflamed dermatoses where infection by susceptible organisms and inflammation co-exist, such as intertrigo and infected eczema. It contains two active ingredients: miconazole nitrate, an antifungal that destroys the fungus that causes the infection, and hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation. Daktacort cream is available in 30g tubes and is only available on prescription.

Negative aspects:
- Daktacort cream is not recommended for use on the face, eyes, and mucous membranes, or for treating cold sores and acne.
- It should not be used for longer than 7 days, on the ano-genital region, or to treat ringworm or secondary infected conditions unless prescribed by a doctor.
- Daktacort cream contains benzoic acid, which may cause local irritation and increase jaundice in newborn babies up to 4 weeks old.
- It also contains butylated hydroxanisole, which may cause local skin reactions or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes.
