EOPS stands for Extended Opportunity Programs and Services, which is a state-funded program designed to provide support services to students who are disadvantaged by social, economic, educational, or linguistic barriers. The program aims to help these students enroll and succeed in college by providing resources that are "over and above" those provided to all students. EOPS offers a variety of support programs and services to eligible community college students, which include academic, career, and personal counseling, assistance with financial aid and scholarship applications, book loan library/textbook assistance, educational and cultural excursions, food and transportation assistance, grants, priority registration, specialized student success workshops, and school supplies. EOPS also has additional supplemental programs such as the CARE program for single parents and the NextUP program for foster youth.
