Florida's tax-free holiday for 2025 includes two main tax-free periods and permanent sales tax exemptions:
- Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday (August 1 to August 31, 2025):
- Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles priced up to $30
- School supplies priced up to $50
- Clothing, footwear, and accessories priced up to $100 per item (includes all ages)
- Personal computers and related accessories priced up to $1,500 (for noncommercial home or personal use), including calculators, desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, keyboards, and more
- Hunting, Fishing, and Camping Sales Tax Holiday (September 8 to December 31, 2025):
- Hunting supplies, firearms, ammunition, bows, crossbows, and qualifying accessories
- Camping supplies including tents priced $200 or less, camping stoves, collapsible chairs, hammocks, sleeping bags priced $50 or less, and camping lanterns and flashlights priced $30 or less
- Fishing supplies including rods and reels priced $75 or less individually or $150 or less as a set, tackle boxes or bags priced $30 or less, and bait or fishing tackle priced $5 or less individually or $10 for sets
- Permanent Sales Tax Exemptions (effective July 1, 2025):
- Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 6-volt, and 9-volt)
- Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
- Portable generators (with limits)
- Waterproof tarps, ground anchor systems, tie-down kits, and fuel containers (5 gallons or less)
- Bicycle helmets (all sizes)
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Life jackets
- Admissions to Florida State Parks
These tax-free holidays offer significant savings on eligible items during specified periods, and the permanent exemptions provide ongoing tax relief on essential safety and outdoor items.
