JP stands for Job Points, which are points earned after completing a job or mission in Grand Theft Auto Online. They are most important when playing playlists, specifically races, where the winner gets 15 job points, but everyone gets less depending on their performance. JP can be used to manipulate gameplay and unlock new skills, but they are not to be confused with RP (Reputations), which is a distinct mechanism that determines the course of the game within a lobby. JP can be farmed in large quantities after completing jobs, but once you leave the game or swap sessions, your JP will be reset to zero. The default JP reward for completing a job is 15, but you can also get different points depending on your performance during the job.
