PSK stands for Passport Seva Kendra, which is an extended arm of Passport Offices in India. PSKs render front-end services related to passport issuance, covering functionalities from token issuance to granting of application for passport issue/re-issue and other services. It is mandatory for all applicants to be physically present at the PSK along with the application print receipt and original documents after submitting the application online. The timings at PSKs are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the application process time generally takes 2-3 hours for capturing photos, biometrics, and other processes. The PSK is responsible for accepting and processing passport applications, including police verification and clearance certificates.
