Rotisserie, or "Roto," is a scoring format used in fantasy basketball. In this format, teams are ranked from first to last in each of several statistical categories, such as points, rebounds, assists, steals, etc. . The cumulative categorical totals of each team are tracked over the course of the entire season, rather than just week-by-week. For each category, teams receive points based on their finish in the category, with first place receiving as many points as there are teams in the league, and each subsequent place falling off by one. The team with the most points at the end of the season is the winner.
Compared to head-to-head (H2H) leagues, where teams face off against one opponent per week, Roto leagues are less dependent on weekly matchups and more focused on overall performance throughout the season. In Roto leagues, injuries or rest days for players do not have as much of an impact on a teams overall performance, as teams are not competing against a different opponent each week. Additionally, Roto leagues tend to reward consistency and overall performance, rather than just a few standout weeks.
