Jesus grew up in the town of Nazareth, located in the region of Galilee in present-day Israel. Though he was born in Bethlehem, his family returned to Nazareth, where he lived with his parents, Mary and Joseph, and his siblings. Nazareth was a small village, and Jesus grew up there among a working-class community, likely helping Joseph in his carpentry trade. He was educated in a small synagogue setting and grew up immersed in Jewish faith and traditions. Jesus lived in Nazareth until around the age of 30 when he began his public ministry.
