Moldova is a landlocked country located in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south. The country lies in the northeastern corner of the Balkans, within the Black Sea Basin. Moldova's capital city is Chișinău, which is situated in the south-central part of the country. Despite being landlocked, Moldova has a small river frontage on the Danube River, providing access to international waters via the Danube and Black Sea.
