Ted Bundy was from Burlington, Vermont. He was born there on November 24, 1946, to Eleanor Louise Cowell at the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers. Although his biological father's identity is uncertain, Bundy was raised in his early years by his maternal grandparents in Philadelphia, who posed as his parents to hide his illegitimate birth. Later, his mother moved with him to Tacoma, Washington, where he took the last name Bundy after his mother married Johnnie Bundy.
