Aditya-L1, India's first dedicated solar mission, will be placed in a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth Lagrange point 1 (L1), which is about 1.5 million kilometers from Earth towards the Sun. • The spacecraft will orbit L1 in an irregular halo orbit roughly perpendicular to the Earth-Sun line, allowing continuous solar observation.
• The mission is planned to last about 5.2 years, conducting detailed studies of the Sun's outer layers and solar phenomena.

Thus, Aditya-L1 "lands" not on a surface but rather enters and remains in a stable halo orbit around the L1 point, approximately 1.5 million km from Earth in the direction of the Sun
