The country's parliament historically located in Harare is Zimbabwe's Parliament. However, the new Zimbabwe Parliament Building, which replaced the old Parliament House in Harare, is located in Mount Hampden, approximately 25 kilometers northwest of Harare. This new building was completed and officially handed over in October 2023. The Parliament of Zimbabwe is bicameral, consisting of the Senate and the National Assembly, and the new building accommodates up to 650 legislators with expanded office and meeting spaces. Despite the move to the modern facility in Mount Hampden, Harare remains the capital city associated with the parliament's location contextually.
