UPS will usually deliver packages between about 9:00 a.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. local time, with some drivers running a little later during peak seasons like the holidays.
Typical latest delivery time
- For most residential addresses, deliveries commonly run as late as 7:00–8:00 p.m., and can occasionally slip a bit later (around 9:00 p.m.) when volume is very high.
- For business addresses, UPS generally delivers during normal business hours and aims to finish by around 5:00 p.m. local time.
Things that can extend times
- During busy periods (holidays, major sales), bad weather, or traffic issues, drivers may still be out past the usual cutoff, so a package marked “Out for Delivery” can arrive closer to 9:00 p.m. than earlier in the day.
- Some services (like certain next-day air options) have earlier guaranteed delivery times in the morning or afternoon, but standard ground services just commit to “by end of day,” which can mean evening for homes.
