Kalos is the sixth generation of Pokémon games, which includes Pokémon X and Y, and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The Kalos region was introduced in Pokémon X and Y and is geographically isolated with no close ties to any other region introduced prior to Generation VI. The sixth generation focuses on the concept of beauty and different aspects related to it, such as balance and harmony, and fashion and different forms of art are some of the themes explored. There are 72 new Pokémon species introduced in Generation VI, including the Kalos region Pokémon. Therefore, Kalos is the sixth generation of Pokémon games.
