Russia has the most confirmed nuclear weapons, with 5,997 nuclear warheads, followed by the United States with 5,428 nuclear weapons. The other countries have significantly fewer nuclear weapons than Russia and the United States.

It is worth noting that some countries, such as South Africa, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine, formerly possessed nuclear weapons but have since dismantled their arsenals and joined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as non-nuclear-weapon states.
