ABVP stands for Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, which is a right-wing all India student organization affiliated with the Hindu nationalist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. It was founded in 1948 to counter communist influence on university campuses and has been accused of multiple violent incidents, including stone pelting, arson, vandalism, and physical assault, on college and school campuses and elsewhere.

ABVP can also stand for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, which is a board-certifying body that offers certification in the care of the total patient. Veterinarians who are ABVP certified have proven knowledge and expertise above and beyond what is required to practice veterinary medicine. ABVP certifies veterinary practitioners with exceptional knowledge, skill, and competency in the care of the total patient, and ABVP Diplomates are certified in clinical practice for the species in which certification is granted. ABVP certification is available to practicing veterinarians without the need to pursue a formal residency or postgraduate education, and the certification process is demanding and requires a thorough mastery of species-oriented practice.
