Rashee Rice was suspended from the Kansas City Chiefs for the first six games of the 2025 NFL season due to violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. This suspension stems from a felony conviction linked to a high-speed, multi- vehicle chain-reaction car crash in Dallas in March 2024. Rice was racing another driver on a highway at 119 mph when he lost control, causing a collision that injured multiple people. He pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges: causing serious bodily injury in a collision and racing on a highway causing bodily injury. As part of his sentence, he received 30 days in jail (to be served intermittently during a five-year probation) and paid about $115,000 in restitution to the victims. Rice also fled the crash scene without helping the injured parties, which factored into the judge's sentencing decision. The Chiefs and the NFL reached a settlement on his six-game suspension, which Rice accepted to serve early in the season so it would not impact critical playoff games later in the year. He returned to play starting Week 7 of the 2025 season after serving his suspension.
